CHANGES TO THE MONTHLY PHOTOGRAPHIC PRESENTATION FOR 2012
For 2012 there will be five categories into which members can enter their photos.
The categories are:
NOVICE
- 6 X 4” to 8 X 12” (A4) Prints and matted, including all sizes in between, for less experienced photographers only.
The only editing that is allowed in this category are normal enhancements to an image making it more presentable, this includes:
- levels adjustments
- increasing or decreasing highlight and shadows
- altering colour saturation
- removing blemishes on the image such as dust on the sensor or other lens artefacts
- sharpening image
- cropping
- no major image manipulation is allowed, objects added, or layering of multiple images
2. Electronic digitally projected images (EDPI’s) with minimal photoediting.
The only editing that is allowed in this category are normal enhancements to an image making it more presentable, this includes:
- levels adjustments
- increasing or decreasing highlight and shadows
- altering colour saturation
- removing blemishes on the image such as dust on the sensor or other lens artefacts
- sharpening image
- cropping
- no major image manipulation is allowed, objects added, or layering of multiple images
ADVANCED
3. 5 X 7” to 8 X 12” (A4) Prints and matted, including all sizes in between for more advanced photographers or less experienced who want to have a go.
The only editing that is allowed in this category are normal enhancements to an image making it more presentable, this includes:
- levels adjustments
- increasing or decreasing highlight and shadows
- altering colour saturation
- removing blemishes on the image such as dust on the sensor or other lens artefacts
- sharpening image
- cropping
- no major image manipulation is allowed, objects added, or layering of multiple images
4. EDPI’s with minimal photoediting. This category can include both less experienced and advanced photographers.
The only editing that is allowed in this category are normal enhancements to an image making it more presentable, this includes:
- levels adjustments
- increasing or decreasing highlight and shadows
- altering colour saturation
- removing blemishes on the image such as dust on the sensor or other lens artefacts
- sharpening image
- cropping
- no major image manipulation is allowed, objects added, or layering of multiple images
5. Creative EDPI’s.
This category allows all levels of photoeding and digital manipulation. Multiple images can be used, additions through layers are acceptable and no restrictions in editing are placed on you if you enter in this category.
A total of 2 photos only may be submitted regardless of the categories and all must be submitted on the monthly competition subject.
Members do not have to confine their two images to one category only. They may submit one in one category then the other in another category.
For example if you are a NOVICE Photographer you may elect to submit one photo in Category 1 and the other in Category 2, 3, 4, or 5. That is you can mix them between the five categories if you so desire.
Note carefully however if you are an ADVANCED photographer you can only enter images into the ADVANCED section. These being either 3, 4 or 5.
